US Embassador Visit - Biblioteca de Boquete

Come to the library to meet the newly appointed US Ambassador to Panama, Jonathan Farrar.

The library received a $6000 grant from the US Embassy to promote learning of English and the sharing of US culture with the local community.  Items purchased with this grant include a large screen TV to facilitate both taped presentations and live discussions, three copies of Rosetta Stone to facilitate English instruction, and over 300 books for the children’s and young adult collections.

We welcome the community to attend the ribbon cutting at 10:15am.  This will be followed by a Q& A session with Ambassador Farrar.  Please keep in mind that the Ambassador represents the government of the US to the government of Panama.  It is the Consulate that takes care of US citizen problems involving passports, social security, taxes, etc.  Unfortunately, there will not be consular representatives on this visit.  Also at 10:30am, Mrs. Farrar will have a short story time for any children in attendance.
