Heartfelt thanks to Keith W., Nancy N., Diane F., Harry and the many anonymous persons who have provided sports equipment to Casa Esperanza. The children are having so much fun playing baseball and soccer with proper equipment. Gone are the bamboo stick baseball bats and half inflated soccer balls. We have even managed to raise enough money to buy 3 sets of different colored sports shirts so the children, who are all in the same school uniforms, can distinguish team members!
Casa Esperanza provides education, meals and a safe haven for play to the indigenous children of our finca families. They pick the children up and shuttle them around to and from school in their mini-bus decorated with children's drawings on the outside. You may have seen it around Boquete. As I understand it, this great organization has other facilities in areas of Panama that have a large population of indigenous children.
Many thanks to all who have contributed.
