Did you go down to David? I thought the local PO will only take parcels up to 2K. I posted a letter (special delivery) from Boquete and it took 5 weeks to arrive in California.
It has been a while since I shipped via the post office in David, but it is not too expensive, and the items arrive in from two to four weeks. On a couple of occasions a friend who lived here and moved away asked me to ship large quantities of Panamanian coffee to which his wife had become accustomed (addicted?).
Packages are required to be fully wrapped in heavy brown wrapping paper and glued, not tied or taped. I didn't know that the first time, and they allowed me to leave the packages at the post office while I went to Daisy and bought the paper, glue and a marker for writing the address on the paper.
Mail Boxes, Etc, provides a mailing service and will haul your items to David and handle the paperwork. They can arrange for a tracking number that can (after a while) be followed on the USPS.com web site. I have only used this service for a small item I purchased and was returning. I needed a USPS tracking number to prove to eBay that it had been delivered.
Needless to say, a little Spanish (not full fluency) is necessary, or you will need to take along someone who speaks Spanish to help you. That's not necessary at Mail Boxes, Etc., but they don't do it free.

Can you give me approximate size and weight and what you paid? We have boxes to ship to US and Germany. Time is not a factor. Thank you.
Also has anyone shipped by air cargo like on COPA?
