Has anyone recently taken the flight from David to San Jose? I know they fly only MWF but can't seem to get a price for a round trip on their site. If you have done it recently, please let me know. I assume you flew Air Panama.

Permalink Reply by Larry I Matthews on August 9, 2012 at 6:26pm I take that flight a couple times a year because my destination in the U.S. is Charlotte and US Air has a non-stop out of San Jose. And yes, it is a M-W-F.
However Air Panama's web site is goofy and has been for 3-4 years. Some days you can see the schedule but it doesn't show prices, Then some days pricing is shown but you can't make reservations on-line. Last time everything was OK, but when I 'pushed the button' to make the reservations, nothing happened. Then I couldn't get back on the site. An hour later I got an email confirming my reservation. ?????
Can only suggest you just keep returning to the site. The alternative is to go to their office in David

Permalink Reply by craig meredith on August 9, 2012 at 10:28pm I would try booking 2 one way tickets. That worked for me one time.
Permalink Reply by John Clement on August 10, 2012 at 5:59am Does the David airport charge a departure tax for the international flight? The last time I looked a long time ago San Jose's departure tax was $26.

Permalink Reply by jim and nena on August 10, 2012 at 7:20am Hi Danny,
Didn't have luck finding round trips, one way was $125 + "additional fees":
I emailed KAYAK and SkyScanner to ask about flight schedules from DAV to anywhere, still waiting for a reply. I would fly DFW to DAV direct in a heartbeat when/if it becomes available.

Permalink Reply by Danny Blank on August 10, 2012 at 7:35am Thanks Jim...I too have had difficulty trying to get info. from Air Panama regarding price and the other travel search engines do not have this flight in their registry for some reason. I flew David to SJO a few years ago for $125 a one way trip and want to confirm this for some friends of mine who I've convinced to come for our fabulous Boquete Jazz and Blues festival in 2013.
Permalink Reply by jim and nena on August 10, 2012 at 7:54am If I hear back from either booking site, I'll post it. We visit family in Chiriqui at least once a year and a DAV direct flight would be excellent (especially while all of Panama City is under construction).

She can answer all of your booking questions.
Permalink Reply by Danny Blank on August 10, 2012 at 9:29am Thanks Judy...think I'll have to do that.
Permalink Reply by jim and nena on August 10, 2012 at 10:21am Got a reply from KAYAK:
"As soon as the flights become available, you should see them start coming up in the search results. Anything that's out there, you should get from our results :)
Please let us know if you experience any issues with this in the future,
Antoniya
KAYAK Software Engineer"
I don't know how their site "finds" new routes but KAYAK apparently isn't having any better luck than we are.
