There was reports of an armed robbery of one of the members of the council of the Boquete Fair, who happened to be carrying $15K cash of money belonging to the fair council.
Allegedly he was robbed at gun point and stabbed three times with non life threatening injuries, however, locals are questioning the incident and calling it planned by the man.
This could or could not be true, but the locals are calling out this man for having the money of the fair with him and not in the bank.
More to come

Not true, you can think what you want, you are entitled to.
However, rumors spread very quickly in Boquete, as people have nothing to do but gossip most of the times, so they make something bigger than what it is and instill fear in the community.
Yes, there was a robbery and money was stolen, it does not mean there is a gang of kids waiting to tackle the next elder expat there.
We were told by a resident of Boquete that a manager of the fair was shot in the foot a couple of days ago in an apparent attempted armed robbery in El Frances, and that he was released from the hospital yesterday. When an armed assault/robbery happens in the community, we would like to know about it, whether it's in the media or not. However if it was reported in the news, we would like to see a link to the story if you can provide it. Thank you.
The secretary was supposedly stabbed very minor. Not in the press as word is seems to be foul play, self planned. But those are allegations
With all due respect, I don't understand who this could benefit. Do the people of El Frances look here? Nope doubt it. Does anyone remember the "National Enquirer"?
For you to say this could or could not be true? Please, is this now a sensationalistic site? No facts at all?
Personally, hearing this is disturbing to me since this isn't far from where I am. Sometimes I drive the road as needed in the DAY hours.
So why? We take care of our security but don't need/want to hear gossip - goodness, that has caused more than it's share of problems here! So facts only please.
With all due respect, word of robberies around town spread quickly and the expat community goes in fear mode. In this case, no need to fear as it seems to be phony business.
