As some might know Alto al Crimen has been using our investigator to help locate the two missing Dutch women. He has already put in several days following all leads and we would like to have him continue. It is out belief he has the highest probability of locating them since he has local connections and knowledge. He is continuing but we need more money to keep him on the job.
This is a request for donations. If you can help please drop any donations at Mail Box Etc box 13112 in an envelope marked Alto al Crimen. If you are not in Boquete and wish to donate please mail donations to:

I am so disgusted by you people that I am going to close this discussion. If you find it necessary to continue to malign those people who are trying help create your own thread.
Once again I will answer those questions raised.
!. Alto al Crimen got involved in this situation at the request of people who donated money for the investigation. It was believed based on the evidence gathered in the first day of investigation and written on the Alto al Crimen website that the women were not lost in the woods. AAC started looking before the DIJ was asked to investigate by Sinaproc.
We decided to go to the community as that money was being exhausted in the event others who could not get out and search could contribute if they wanted to contribute. The money is kept in a separate Quickbooks account for this project. There is not enough money to open a new bank account to make a significant change the the reward offered. If any of you wish to post a reward that would matter, say $20,000 personally please do it yourselves, AAC does not have the assets.
2. I have already disclosed I am the treasurer of Alto al Crimen and I will not disclose the other board members on this website. I will equally not disclose the name of the investigator except to say he has been very successful in resolving numerous other cases. He is successful because AAC will pay informers and the police cannot. I will not disclose his name because I do not want to put him or his family at risk.
3. Anyone who thinks I am stealing their donations can talk to me in person or email. I will make the books available to them. Anyone who wants an audit of AAC can have one at their expense. There is no legal, moral or financial reason AAC donations should be used to hire an auditor.
The money is easy people donate it and it goes to Rodny or the investigator. I donate the webspace for the website. David Van Harn and I donate our time to try and maintain it. Rodny uses it and the database to identify registered people in the event of an emergency.
4. AAC is not a charity. It is non profit foundation that contracts with local resources such as Rodny for services and uses 100% of donations to pay for those services. No one is obligated to pay and those who do get no special privileges, although in my opinion they should.
5. The Miami address is for non Panama residents who might want to assist and that mail goes to my box at Mail Box Etc in Boquete. I pay the charges for the mail to be delivered. I pay my own expenses when working for AAC. Neither I not any other board member gets one cent for our time or expenses. I know I sign the checks.
Finally my thanks to those who instead of bitching try to help with our imperfect organization that tries to provide for some services in an imperfect world. To the rest of you, if you can do better do it, or stop complaining about people who have made your lives perhaps a little more secure.
Oh, and yes the hotline is no more perfect than 911 but unless you speak Spanish well while in the middle of an emergency and want to dial numerous numbers to maybe get help it is better than nothing.
does anyone know who this p.i. is? aac does not want to say.
I moved here from new york state in order to take care of my parents. 2 months ago my fathers house was robbed in dolega. they took my laptop, jewelry and cash my father had hidden. they knew where to look. conveniently 1 hour after the police left, a p.i. showed up to the house. he promised to get our things back for a fee ($100) per day). he showed up to the house a week later high as a kite and asking for more money because he payed for information from his own pocket. when my dad said no he then tried to sell him some jewelry. he was wearing a gun and my mother who is 72 got scared. my guns were still hold up at the dij or i would have showed him how we deal with crooks like him in ny. he then showed up another week later and asked for 1/2 the reward $ because he was close and will split it with the informant. yeah right!!! what a scumbag! then i asked around and was told that he rips people off and is probably working with the thieves or a bad cop. and now he works for aac. i don't remember his name but i'll recognize it if i read it. who is he???
Of the well over 8,000 views to this post, only $590 has been donated? I have a sneaking suspicion that with the proper handling of a "charitable" organization, much, much more could have been collected. How should anyone simply trust that all donations will go directly to the funding of the private, very private, investigator?
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to bring up this topic?
does anyone know if a monetary award has been offered to whomever has the info leading to the conclusion of this very mysterious disappearance? If not, then perhaps an award fund needs to be set up.
Yes, Ingrid Lommers, the owner of the Spanish schools posted a $2,500 reward the day after the girls disappeared. The Panamanian news has mentioned this in every print and t.v. media I have seen.
They do not know.
