We met at the Haven, and at San Francisco restaurant once. I am interested in joining the biking group.
I would like the groups and your contact info. I went out at 7 today but no one was around.
When transporting my bike I seriously stretched the rear derailler sram-x7 which is beyond my skill level to adjust so also am looking for some to repair it.
Luisito is a personal friend of mine. He asked for $6 because of our friendship. I gave him $20 for the very same reason. Even a charge of $50 would have been very reasonable. Do you have any idea of what is involved in cleaning, adjusting, regulating a high end road bike?
I highly recommend Jose Luis Sanchez in David. He has a small spot near the bus station in David. He took my road bike apart, greased and cleaned it. Put it all back beautifully and asked $6. I gave him $20. I'd paid over $100 in the US for similar service. Luis is very, very good. His phone number is 6730 9660. He's a young fellow working hard. His small workshop is across the street from Tomy Bicycle Store. You'll see him actually on the sidewalk working on bikes.
There has been much conversation lately about the cost of living in Boquete. Today on Ning there is a strong message about how to address that cost of living. Get off Main Street and into the alleys. One person is looking at a trip to Dos Rios for work on her bike. Other suggestions sent people on side streets for watch repairs. It may seem obvious but many of us head for the familiar stores because it's comfortable and English is more available. But the great prices and best adventure are in the nooks and crannies of Boquete and David. My dog and my squirrel destroyed my watch band and I got it replaced for five dollars this morning in a little cubby hole. You came here for the adventure or the cost of living, get them both with a little exploring.
Hi Susan, if you go to Dos Rios ( Two Rivers) bring your camara. It is a lovely, tranquil, rural, peaceful community surrounded by two rivers. There is only one road in and out. It is paved and near the end of that road is a large park where that have a festival around New Years that lasts for 3/4 days. My wife is from there.

Once again, thanks for all the great suggestions for bike repairs. We are set for some exploring.

This is why the cost of living goes up.
Thanks Remi, I will.
Thanks Remi - do you know where in Alto Boquete? I'll give him a call.
