Border run without any problems January 9th 2017. 90 days visa NOT true. European Union passport.

72 hour stay still in place. Stamping out from Panamá very quick. Stamping in passports in Costa Rica very fast and they did not asked for anything. On the 12th at the Panamanian customs they only asked for the proof of airline ticket confirmation. No problem. After they stamped the passport, I asked if I could stay 180 days. He said YES.

Two members of parliament have suggested to reduce the stay to 90 days. Too many Columbians, Venezuelans are working illegally in Panamá.

  Thanks Alan. I speak fluent Spanish. It is very clear to me. When my wife and I (EU passports), I asked how long we could stay, 2 customs officers confirmed 6 months. This was on January 12th.2017.

Does this law apply to new visitors or all visitors... so that current visitors here longer than 90 days have to leave?

Meet with our lawyer yesterday to pay our corporation fee's for the year, I asked her about the new law and was told it became effective on Jan 11th. She is a very well respected lawyer in David and well connected at immigration offices in Panama City.

I deleted all of my post. No use battling with the uninformed on the new immigration law. They will get kicked out of the country if they play by "THEIR" rules. Good luck.
