Us! Hubby and I are arriving the 29th for a week...looking around and hoping to meet lots of you folks...would love to "talk" first via emails , etc.,

we have had contact with a realtor who has basically tried to turn us off from coming to Panama to live-not because we are wrong for Panama but because he is a total embarrassment to think he maybe was an American in a prior life.I do NOT understand where he feels he has a right to say some of the things he has nor do I understand why he is allowed to practice real estate with his attitude but I know Panama is not the US so maybe he feels there are no rules...no code of conduct??? I pray he is not "one of you" in the Boquete/Volcan area! from everything i have read; i doubt it! I will not trash him here-it is not the place, i know...just that we need positives now as this is a big choice to make! we felt very confident til he dropped into hubby's email inbox--now i am hoping that not all folks are like that!

we've jumped all the pre trip hoops except for the packing and dropping the pets off at the sitters and i guess i would feel better if we had someone to look forward to meeting ! we know about Saturday breakfast at Dalys' in Volcan and Tuesday mornings at Hotel Fundadores in Boquete--just really wanting a lil more personal touch???? have never been shy before and not sure why i feel it now......

our post trip plan will, hopefully, be to put the house stateside on the market so we can move....

Come explore and enjoy. There are many good people here in all professions and many who are not so good also, just like anyplace else. Come with an open heart and mind but do not leave your brains at the airport and you will do great.

thank you, lee! we really feel that this guy is the execption to the rule from all we have absorbed for over a year of reading and looking--we are excited about the journey and the -hopeful- future move! since neither of us has actually ever been to Panama, we felt that this visit-tho only 8 days long- would give us a good looksee...we figure we will either love it or hate it!!!! other than the afore mentioned guy we love it so far!!!---and you are so right--"just like anywhere else" there can be not so goods!!!

we're in ohio now and still have frost risk tonite on my newly planted flowers....booooo
