Just got an e-mail from a friend with whom I often travel to David for shopping, and we have been watching this new bridge for weeks since it appeared to be completed to see when It would open.
The over-crossing is on Ave. Belissario Porras, part of the new Boquete-David highway. (Ave. Belissario Porras was at one time the old road (and I believe the old railroad right-of-way) that ran from Boquete's Parque Central to the David bus terminal.
I am curious as to how the traffic flow patterns will change in the area, and how drivers will adapt to the new configuration.

Also, the big new indoor mercado in the checkerboard building about two blocks behind the big church on the airport road is also now open. There were about 20 frutas y legumbres vendors and a few carne vendors selling their stuff there a few weeks ago.

Huh?
Annoyingly.

It's sad that there aren't any pedestrian walkways.
No pedestrian walkways? Where?
On the overpass itself. Definitely not pedestrian friendly.
Wait until the next time the gov pisses off the indigenous. You will be able to see the walkway then.
David, when you say the airport road, do you mean the road where Super 99 (the old one) is, or the road where the jail is?
Go past Romero and Super 99 until you get to the big Catholic church and school on your right about three blocks before the big jail complex. Turn right on the street before the church and go three blocks. The market is a really big big new modern building with a glaringly obvious checkerboard panel pattern on the side and lots of parking.
This overpass is one of the reasons I pray for this country. Dumb ass construction. There is no way to turn East and head to Panama and no way to turn West and head to Price Smart. Really remarkable how stupid. epic..
