Hi all,
Does anyone have experience with the Digicel "stick" for internet connection here in the Bugaba area (or any area for that matter).
We are getting tired of the problems with the Claro stick and was wondering about Digicel.
Thanks,
Jack

I am also interested in this topic if anyone has insight and if I find out beforehand I will be sure to inform others. Claro used to be the cheap internet solution but then without notice, and even worse in a confidential memo, they began throttling users and limiting their "unlimited" internet.
From what I have been told it is now a 10GB limit and then there is no option to pay more for internet if you wanted to, instead you are cut to less than dial up speed for the rest of the month.
I am in search of a new solution. If I can use the same router that would be sweet.
I use Digicel pre paid (prepago) for my cell phone but it is not unlimited. It is about $34 per month for 6GB which I can share with my wife's phone. I have been told unless I go postpago it is limited to 3GB. It is enough to use Google Translate which is a huge benefit, but its not cheap.
We do use Cable and Wireless but it is my understanding that new service is limited to availability which we have been lied to about in the past by lazy contractors who did not want to do the install.
With persistence, and a little help from our friends, we finally got on board at $32 per month for 5GB which delivers an average of 4.5 in my area of Volcan. You need a referral from a nearby neighbor to sign on otherwise they wont even talk to you.
Everything else is twice the cost of what we were paying with Claro, but now with the new rules Claro is useless and dead to me.
