Hello everyone. My wife and I will be traveling to Costa Rica a week from Saturday to get my tourist visa extended. I'm wondering if anyone can provide specific directions on how to get to the Panama/Costa Rica border crossing FROM Rio Sereno? I made a preliminary run up there on Monday, but could not find the location of the immigration offices. I had previously referenced several blogs that provided great detail along with photos, but I could not locate anything that looked familiar once I arrived. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it!

Great idea regarding the taxi. That may be what we end up having to do. Thanks y'all!
Be aware that you have to stay in Costa Rica 72 hours. Check out of Panamá and check in to Costa Rica. Pay the $8 exit tax before checking out from Costa Rica after the 72 hours.
Thank you Robert. Understood.
We just had a Copa reservation to Curacao (Dutch Antilles) as we are Dutch, They didn't ask for anything, after showing last bank statement of our Panamanian bank account and debit card. No finger prints and photo. Probably as we are already in the database. As long as one complies with the 72 hours, no problem. Have a relaxed trip.
Hi Robert. Thanks for your reply. We have no Panamanian bank account set up yet. We can provide three bank statements from our account in US. Hoping that will work.
@Jan. It might work normally. When you give your passport just hand the custom officer also your debit card and have the statements on hand. I am Dutch and no FATCA requirements. I had my bank account with Scotia Bank the same day with two Visa debit cards.
Hi, hope these pictures can help you. The office its at the border on the right side..
Hi Antonio. Thank you for responding. I actually have these same pictures on a blog that I saved. They really didn't help me because I couldn't find the correct road to take once I was in Rio Sereno. I followed signs to La Union, and once there, I drove past the Terpel gas station and into Costa Rica illegally. Fortunately, I was able to turn around and get back into Panama without getting stopped. I never saw any of the buildings shown in the blogs or in the photos you provided. If I could just get driving directions from the town of Rio Sereno to the Panama migration office, I could then find the Costa Rican immigration fairly easily, I think. And since we are staying in San Vito for three nights, we need to park our vehicle in a safe spot. I understand you can park across from the Costa Rican police station. Do you know if this is correct? Is this legal?
Remember your return ticket must be a ticket and not a reservation.
