I have the small dish. I have Dish Net out of Michigan. I might be able to get as signal if I could try a 2 meter dish.

Richard, your small dish will not work here and the 2 meter dish would only work if you are using a single dual polarized LNBF, which would require a different mount for the large dish. If your small dish is not round or is slightly oblong then that is a different LNBF and would not work with the large dish. If you can find a large dish, I may have the required LNBF, but you won't get as many channels as you were getting in Michigan.
I tested-it in Boquete four years ago and it worked great. At the time, we needed a very large dish (2+ meters) and used my FTA box to test. An individual that used-to work for Sky helped me with the test. We were also able to capture the Amazonas feed from South America with another box.

Do you think I could set up a Dish Net now? I would need the large dish which I don't have. I'd like to dump my Direct TV. They haven't had CBS for a year.
I'd like to encourage a Canadian to try the Shaw Direct system. They have a Take Your Dish to Your Vacation Home program. You don't tell them your vacation home is outside Canada.
It works in Mexico, and I think it works as far as Belize. Maybe with a big enough dish, it would work here.
Since Shaw doesn't actually support people outside Canada, there are middlemen who are selling complete systems. Here's one:

What size is your antenna? This far south would require a very large parabolic reflector.

Thanks. Looks like I will have to give up trying.
someone with a 2M dish left over from the olden days, I guess!
Or, some Canadian with some extra cash and a burning desire for english language programming.

Dish Networks satellite does not cover Panama. If you can get it to work here I would love to know.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I brought a dish and satellite box for nothing.
