I don't know for sure, but assume this is a phenomenon that might affect Panama and therefore be of concern to those of us who live here.
So have posted links to an excellent article on the topic on the All Things Medical list, where you are invited to read it and participate if so inclined!
I can't reproduce the entire article for copyright reasons, but these are the subheadings:
- Negative Stereotypes of Older People?
- Should Treatment Stop at Age 75?
- Many Doctors Agree: Divert Resources Away From the Elderly
- "I Hope I Die Before I Get Old"
- How Much Discrimination Is There, Anyway?
- A Lack of Curiosity About Older Patients
- Are Most Doctors In Over Their Heads?
