I was contacted today by a resident of El Retorno in David in an effort to get some financial support for a Christmas luncheon for the underprivileged families of El Retorno and Victoriano Lorenzo in David.
Credit will be given to the Expat Community of Boquete for the help in making it possible for these children to enjoy turkey or ham on Christmas. Many of them have never been able to taste such Holiday staples.
They are visiting the community and giving out tickets for the families that have kids. They already have a Pinata, a clown and a Santa.
Ideally, they will close the main road, set up tables and offer a typical Panamanian Christmas Lunch which consist of arroz con guandu (guandu rice), turkey, ham, eggroll, tamal, cookies, fruit cake and fruit punch. They would love to provide goodie bags with candy, marshmallows, chocolates, etc. or a small toy for each child.
These will be a fabulous event, but they need help. You are all invited and pictures will be published on this site thanking those who donate
Please send me an email so that I can put you in contact with the gentleman organizing this charity event. I hope the expat community offers a hand!
Thank you
