Although I have used it sparingly, mainly to increase the absorption of other substances, you should know that it can be extremely sensitizing which was determined in unethical experimentation on prisoners in PA by I believe Kligman sometime in the past.
Don't have time to research it for you, but here is a reference that may say more than you want to know.
I would be very careful if you try it, and wash it off immediately if any sign of irritation or redness. Problem is, it is absorbed SO fast (you taste the garlic almost immediately) that it may already be in your system by the time you realize you are sensitive.
Also, anything that dissolves a nightie might just not be the best thing to use at bedtime! (Or maybe it is? Depends I s'pose on who you ask)
Interesting that this is deemed relevant to Panama/Chiriqui/Boquete. Well, it does I suppose relate to horses.
My grandmother used it for arthritis in her hands for at least 3 or 4 years with no noticible negative effects, and she found it more helpful than anything else for her pain and flexibility.

how do I private message you ? My concern is, safety for humans. I have used it on horses and was warned not to get it on my hands !!
Well, (to give Lynne H benefit of the doubt) it could have been something you figured out by were kissing your horse! Just sayin. ;-)
I have used it on horses, too. What about on humans ....... that is the question !
