The great and biggest problem that limited the development of Latin America has been the politicians or political class. For decades they have been tied with the economic power of the nations. So in Panama politics and politicians are not well appreciated or well seen. We think of them as a "necessary evils".
My employee told me Manolo is contesting the results.
Who knows.
Well as much as I know is what we call in Spanish "Pataleo de ahogado".
Something like "splashing of a drowned man".
yeah, but do you all know that every diputado gets $25,000 , Xmas bonos?/
.... and since the day it was given to them they are under the scope and criticism of the people and media.
No.
This is going to be the last and final.
Panamanians have chosen their way forward. I hope that everyone will respect that, and since this site is predominately visited by people without a right to vote, I hope that this discussion topic will be closed.

Even that you don't have the right to vote all of you will be directly affected by the people that have been elected for public positions in the government. Since you are legal residents of Panama you have rights and you are entitled to them and the authorities should listen and work for all the people living in Panama either citizens and/or residents.
how about best 3 out of 5?
My understanding of Spanish is poor. Is there any difference that the winning candidate had over the loser? (OTHER THEN BEING KNOWN CORRUPT)
