We just enjoyed a fantastic breakfast in the Jardin Encantado (formerly Paradiso) on lower Volcancito.
The owners have just started an Old World European style breakfast/brunch, Thursday-Sunday.
I hadn't heard a word about it, but was invited by a friend.
Here's my personal review of the experience:
It is upscale hotel ambiance, with cloth napkins, silverware, etc, but welcoming and relaxing vibe. Served buffet style, leaning towards the Hotel Radisson/Decapolis.
One or two indoor rooms with a table for private dining, with most of the tables outdoors on the terrace surrounded by the gardens.
$15/person includes all you can eat, including wine and champagne (mimosa/Kir Royale) and touring their beautiful gardens. (This is the garden that Paul Sabin founded with all the tropical birds; many are still there, as well as the monkeys, the ocelot, and the stone pools with fish and turtles)
The buffet had salamis, ham, 5 kinds of cheeses, caprese salad, house made croissant, several other breads, platters of fresh ripe fruit, jams, yogurt, cereals, "sliders", fried eggs, bacon, potatoes, and a bunch more. Coffee and a selection of teas.
We were offered made to order eggs and I had the 3 minute egg. It arrived on a small tray, in an egg cup, with a german decapitating tool. And a bone spoon to scoop out the soft yolk. And a small ceramic pot of sea salt crystals. Really a great presentation!
Several choices for dessert, all house made.
So, if you are looking for an elegant, relaxing, delicious meal for you or perhaps out of town guests, this is a wonderful choice!
Today was their first day open and we apparently were the only ones who knew about it.
The owners are German, and also speak English and Spanish; and are great hosts.
The hours are 9AM-Noon Thursday-Saturday and 9AM-2PM on Sunday, with an expanded buffet.
I'm not affiliated at all; I just met the owners this morning. I think they are offering something very special and I wish them success.

Mary and I just had a perfect European style brunch and enjoyed the atmosphere which was a complete surprise! It was very tranquil and the sounds of all the birds made the perfectly cooked meal even that much more special. All the foods that had been at the buffet were pretty much gone by the time we got their but, the owners fixed us our own special breakfast.
The last time I had this quality of food I was in a bed and breakfast in Alberta Canada. IN other words you would have to travel a long way to get this quality of food and the selections.
Hi .. I am attaching a microsoft word doc that I copied to with all the information from the Noticias email.
Hope it works.
This Brunch and Tour looks delightful
Good Luck
Hi Erin, thanks for posting this. I missed it the first time around. I hope they are open tomorrow. I will be making reservations.
yes, super easy to find.
Do you know the pottery store, Casa Colonial? Jardin Encantado is the next driveway going uphill.
