I had all my docs in order, however, when I got to Copa in David I was told I needed one more doc from Copa Airlines ! News to me ! Long story short, I left David on time ( 9:30 AM) and BFF kept my dog all day and returned her to the airport to take the 7 PM flight to Tocuman, where I picked her up. Copa called BFF several times to tell her where the dog was, when she left/arrived etc, as they felt responsible for the mixup (and they were!). However, original cost was $25, final cost was $145 ! I have not contacted Copa yet, but will try to get the money back for my friend.
The next morning I flew to USA on Delta. Piece of cake ! Dog came with me to baggage check in and next I saw her was at baggage pick up in Atlanta for customs. Angel man took over with dog and baggage and got us both through customs and set for the next flight to Detroit. He got water for the dog and calmed my overactive nerves. No problems ! Cost for dog was $200 in baggage. Picked her up at baggage in Detroit. Fabulous.

For some reason I can only post one line at a time. I get rejected if I do more ???????????
Thanks Gene. Sorry for the posting problem. That was a mysterious answer. Thanks for clearing that up.
That's a penalty for rejecting Boquete.
The drop off is the Econimica lot located close to the hotel...Take the pets to the terminal, if they are flying with you not to cargo....
I can not post the answer for some reason, Economicia in David....
We relocated back to the States about six weeks ago, utilizing Delta to Atlanta. What we die was rent a van in David one way dropping it off in PTY. Stayed at the Riandie, which is right around the corner from the drop-off lot and the airport. All the drop-off lots are very close to the hotel. I have itemized the costs below.
1. One way van rental $210.00 for 24 hr period. Plus gas...Included insurance...
2. Hotel stay $140.00 ?? per night..
3. $16.00 per dog, which they are allowed to stay in the room, a real deal..
4. Free transportation to airport for yourself and 3 dogs with luggage..Free breakfast at hotel.
5. Cost per dog on Delta $200.00
6. Local vet did export documentation, $40.00 per dog--Dr. Crespo in Volcan...(This part is pure B.S.)
7. Dr. Sam did the shots, which were about $55.00 per dog.
8. Entering the U.S. all that was needed was proof of rabies shot...
Doing it yourself is not a big deal in retrospect, at the time it seemed like a very large wall. I think the one way van rental is the way to go, eliminates a lot of steps and interaction with bureaucrats....
Gene, who rents vans? I've only seen cars at the rental places. By drop-off lot, do you mean Delta cargo? Did you just go directly there rather than have the agents send the dogs there when you checked in?
You are right about the export documentation. Pure BS is right. You would think Panama would be happy to see you taking your dogs out of the country instead of treating you like you're exporting some exotic endangered species.

What do you mean? I asked where to rent vans.
