I didn't mean to imply that non-residents of Boquete are not welcome on the forum. My point was that Mr. Meyers doesn't like Boquete doesn't live in Boquete, and therefore should have no interest in Boquete beyond, perhaps, stating his position once--i.e., he should mind his own business. His diatribes against Boquete and its residents are repetitive, insulting, divisive, and outside the purported aims of this site.
Final comment? I, for one, am sorry that this post has been detracted, and that more robust discussion hasn't occurred.
Real or fake? Hard to say, and I hope that someone can shed some light whether or not this whole thing has been contrived; but ....
Remember being seventeen? Ryan, I don't want to patronize, but it seems that while the issues upon which you so passionately expound have some basis in reality, gross generalizations about virtually any subject are fundamentally flawed. There was great discourse on *ning recently about perception, and this particular can of worms demonstrated how widely and wildly perceptions can be skewed.
The most troubling aspect of your proclamations is the perceived "us vs: them" foundation. The greatest gift of intelligence and education is that knowledge acquired defeats ignorance, and it is ignorance which prohibits us from truly knowing another soul -- ANY other soul. In fact, the accusations that you have levied against a given sub-set of the population within which you reside apply equally to yourself: it would take a truly encyclopedic knowledge to fully understand any individual, let alone an entire population.
If what you perceive frustrates and angers you, then you need to apply yourself to finding solutions, for what you have done is identified a problem. If the frustration grows to the point where you must lash out with charged language, that is your privilege. Just don't be surprised if you scream, "Phoaque que!" and somebody screams back, "NO! PHOAQUE QUE !!" I suspect that as you get older and wiser, you'll come to realize that the solutions to problems lie in a bit more civilized approach to communication. Or, don't. Peoples perceptions will fall where they may.
I'd suggest that you focus a bit more closely and carefully on your own loved-ones and friends. As you support one another and grow together, you'll find that your own stability in this world will attract more and more like-minded persons that you can relate to and enjoy. And so, your circle of friends will grow and flourish, and what you wind-up contributing to your community expands exponentially out into the very landscapes of your Country, and thus, the World that we all ultimately share.
If indeed, this whole thing turns out to have been a scam of some sort, good on ya, mate; I hope that you received the backlash you were aiming for. If, indeed, you are a seventeen year old young man, then good luck. Try not to be too hasty, because I can guarantee that you'll end up amazed at how fast the years will flash by, and about what you will learn, and about what you will remain ignorant of.
That being said, it's always better to be pissed-off than it is to be pissed on ....

Fran, couldn't the same be said relative to Mr. Meyers' posts? This is a Boquete forum, Mr. Meyers is not a resident of Boquete, and his posts have devolved into little more than Boquete bashing. Moreover, he provokes the worst in other posters, who cannot resist disagreeing and futilely arguing with him. Posts such as Mr. Meyers', in my view, should be tolerated for a while in the spirit of freedom of expression. But when they begin dragging the entire forum down to an unhealthy level, I believe some thought should be given to deleting them or banning him outright.
We agree, "crime waves" and "pedophilia" and "drug abuse" are not common problems in Boquete.
