Here is an update from Finca Santa Marta.  We are western Panama’s premier vegetable and chicken farm utilizing permaculture and organic growing methods from around the world.  We grow and distribute the largest variety of fresh organic produce available in Panama.

  

We distribute our veggies etc. on Tuesday mornings at the Tuesday Morning Market in Boquete, Tuesday afternoons in Dolega and David, Wednesday afternoons in Volcan and then on Thursdays we ship to Bocas, Pedasi, Coronado and Panama City.  Orders for pickup or delivery are placed online through our web site and payment is made through a direct deposit to Banco General or via Paypal.  Some of our products are also available in Panama City through Chris Burillo’s  Food Box Delivery.  http://www.chrisburillo.com/

Slightly off the track, but why is it so hard .to get some real spinach in Panama?  I have found it a couple of times, but it is a rarity.  It would seem that if you can grow lettuce, you should be able to grow spinach.  Wrong?

We are still experimenting to find a variety that will grow well in Panama.  We also have a trusted grower friend that is testing different varieties now.  So... we hope to be able to offer some North American type spinach in the near future.   Same thing with sweet corn although that appears to be more of a challenge.

Hi,  Yes we do offer guided tours an an optional organic lunch.  Unfortunately we only offer these when Kim and I are in Panama and we are currently in Virginia  until the end of June.  Maybe some other time?
