You might have seen Frank Wezyk in the park with his trained squirrels over the course of the past couple years. He doesn't use computers himself, but he asked me to post a link to his story here:
He has had nothing but trouble with immigration for the past few years, and needs expert advice on a potential resolution to his issues. If he cannot find a way to secure legal residency here, he is considering the possibility of moving to Cuba, and wonders if anyone has experience in that area.
If you have any advice for him, the best way to contact him is by phone: 6446.3761

He does not use computers… yet has an online website promoting his "squirrel" business?
Suspect.
There is more here than meets the eye. Maybe instead of asking other people for money, he should sell his shiny red corvette?
Am I missing something here? What is he asking for?
He's not asking for money. Just some good advice.
My advice:
Use a computer and do online research for facts, instead of asking a third-party to post on an annoymous internet forum for opinons. Especially when considering life altering decisions.
Get a good lawyer.
Comply with Panamian law.
If all else fails, suck up the losses and return to the states. Unless he is not allowed to return, for unknown reasons.
Other than this, I am not sure what advice the people on ning could offer. Clearly, we are not being told the whole story. It is not arbitrary that he is not able to secure residency.
Hi Olga. The FBI report is the possible problem. By the way I have not seen Frank lately at the Central Park.
My wife and I chatted quite often with him at the Central Park. We understood that he had a problem with his FBI report and that something happened in the past. Sometimes we cannot follow and connect his stories.
A friend of mine used a wonderful lawyer from David he raved about, who she helped in a similar situation, her name is Carol Gonzalez. I think She is a Ning member......I hope he reaches out to her and see if She can help him... This is sad and there must be a solution for him.
I do not know why his process would have been so extensive or complicated.
However, I do not recommend Cuba at all. I am born in Cuba and have not been back since 1977 but I know the stories and the situation and he will have no access to US funds in Cuba, or to get his pension etc., nor residency.
Check with lawyers in PC or perhaps be a little bit more clear as to why his Pensionado has been so difficult
I'm curious Olga. You were able to go back to Cuba in 1977 and yet leave again? Was there a special visa status back then? Was it risky to go back, a chance that they wouldn't let you leave? I imagine eventually there will be U.S. banks in Cuba, but right now, you're right. He would not be able to access his funds.
