Early last week I was allowed to turn left to go to the Haven, then I wasn't, it was only traffic coming the other way, why is this? So, now I have to turn right and go all the way around, and in some parts that road is really narrow, and you could end up in the ditch. I wonder who has enough influence that traffic can't turn left to go to the Haven or beyond? And while we are at it, last Thursday I decided to drive down the awful Wilson Bridge road the back way into town, and the way was barred by a bloke waving me away!
I told the traffic guy that I was actually going to the Haven, and he wouldn't let me go that few feet, even though there were no cars coming the other way.
While we're at it, when they paved some of the roads, they made them narrower. The road past the Sandwich Shop, going around the curve past the cemetery and the recycle place, is now so narrow two cars can't pass. One of them has to back up. Also the new pavement in some places is so high compared to the connecting side roads, it's like driving off a cliff. At least they are finally getting the manhole covers level with the road surface.
I did that last Monday and found it to be long, rocky, potholed, and muddy. However, the City is working on it, grading it, but that means vehicles are often stopped because of heavy machinery. It took quite a while to traverse.
This would be easily accomplished if the City would adopt the above ideas and enforce them. Right now, they will not let anyone coming into town take the road by The Haven, but they do allow two-way traffic on this other road. Why not make both of them one way, one for going north and one for going south? This intersection is a nightmare, as Oscar points out, but the road itself is too narrow to accommodate two vehicles when one of them is very large. For example, a garbage truck was blocking it Monday morning, causing back-ups in both directions. I'm afraid this video will not reach enough people to make a big difference.

Oscar for Mayor!
Maybe you can talk to the people in charge and have it done.

Actually the best route is to take the turn just before the Wilson Bridge that runs by the river if they haven’t blocked that off, no one is using it.
