Hello,
I've been looking for flights from Manchester UK to Panama City (PTY). One flight I have in mind lands at PTY at 20:05. Which would be my options for getting to Boquete?
There doesn't seem to be a bus service direct from PTY - from the research I've done so far. I've read that there is a bus service to David from Albrook bus terminal. So, in short, I welcome replies as to the best way to get to Boquete, and the cost involved.
Thanks in advance,
David.

A bit off subject, but I don't know if you know that a foreign driving license if only good for 90 days here. At the checkpoints the police could check the last time your passport was stamped, and if you have been here for more than 90 days and are driving, it's not good.
Also, my insurance lady told me once Of a little known law stating that it is illegal for men to drive a car without wearing a shirt or a top. She did not mention if the same goes for the women!
While I’m thinking of this, I don’t know what your plans are for getting U.S. dollars, but do not get large denomination notes keep it to 20’s. Most everyone you will deal with doesn’t want to take anything larger than a twenty and many prefer not to have to make change. Also credit cards are not as widely used here, most transactions will be cash.
Good thinking, Donald - a very good point!
Getting back to your plans. You arrive in the early hours of the morning by your UK biological clock you are sleep deprived in a strange place when it is dark at the mercy of others regardless of how well you might believe you have planned it. Play it safe and stay the night either at a hotel close to the airport and fly to David the following morning or if the flight is an expense you can do without stay the night in Panama City and take the bus the following morning, the Panama/David buses run frequently. I do see you planned your arrival so as not to coincide with a Panamanian holiday which is good.
Many thanks, everyone. All your contributions are appreciated. So, It looks like a hotel on arrival, then in the morning an early flight to David, then a bus or taxi to Boquete.
Stay the night at the hotel near the Tocumen airport. Take the morning Copa flight from Tocumen to David airport and a taxi to Boquete. Taxi will cost +/- $ 35.
Thanks, Robert I think this is the way to go!
Take a break in Panama City. If you haven’t been there before it’s worth a couple of days at least to see the old city, walk along the causeway, eat well and walk around the park trails near Albrook (bits of planes near the paths from the Noriega days and the US invasion). Don’t forget the Panama Canal too.
This is a great idea. Panama City and the old Canal Zone has about a week's worth of sights to see the history. We rented a taxi for a day for $35: Cerro Ancon, Mirafores Locks, Panama Viejo, Amador Causeway. The cabby had lunch with us and got us around town quickly.
Just don't come now. They are closing some airports and roads due to the storms. November should be much better.
