I live in Coronado. I am coming up for a couple days and thought I'd like to play at your courses. I am a hacker, a duff, no bueno, but enjoy driving the cart and cursing at the ball as it goes where I did not intend.
I am thinking I will be there Wednesday and Thursday and hope for no rain?
any info on a reasonable place to stay or info on golf appreciated.
Gracias in advance

Hi Carl,
I am a member at the Valle Escondido Country Club. If you are a guest of a member you can play 18 holes for $26.00 plus tax. The course is 9 holes, with the ability to play 18 holes because there are two sets of tees for each hole. Some of the tees are more than 50 yards different from front nine to back. It is a very demanding course. Any shot not in the proper direction or distance will result in a penalty. The course par is 60, with 6 par 3's and 3 par 4's on both the front and back 9's. Reply to this with your contact info and I will be happy to help you plan a round with me on the days you are here.
The Lucero course is also extremely difficult, although for different reasons. It is well over 7000 yards in length, and the course slope rating is an unbelievable 153! It's available on Thursdays at a rate of $54 plus tax, but only if you're the guest of a particular individual. Again, reply to this with your contact info and I'll put you in touch with that person.
I am familiar with the golf courses in the Coronado region. The Lucero course is always wet in the rainy season as it does not drain as well as they might hope. The Valle Escondido course is incredibly wet right now. Its drainage, quite frankly, is a disgrace.
Hope you enjoy your visit. Boquete is quite unique.
Hi Carl, there are two golf courses in Boquete. A 9 hole in Valle Escondido, I think it is about $65 to play. Valle Escondido is down town so easy to get too. The other course is at Lucero County Club and is 18 holes, and is about $85. It is about a 20 minute drive from Boquete and if it is not raining, it is a very interesting course with some great views. With either courses I would suggest playing in the morning, because it often rains in the afternoon.
Re your accommodation, it depends how much you want to pay. I believe Oasis is very nice and quite reasonable, there is also the Haven again very nice. I suggest you look on Trip Advisor because at this time of year the rates will be lower and there should be quite a few to choose from. FYI Lucero has two tree houses to rent but they are expensive. There is also a hotel at Valle Escondido, but not cheap I believe!
Hope this helps!
