My husband and I are looking into health insurance policies here in Panama. We are considering an International Plan since we would need US coverage too. We received a decent quote from Worldwide Medical and have read good reviews on here already. But we also received a quote from Mapfre First Class Gold Plan which is very reasonable. Has anyone had good experience with Mapfre or any feedback?
We are healthy, active in our 40's and rarely need a doctor.

Mapfre is a large Spanish insurance company operating in Spain and Latin America. Good sound company. I worked 13 years in Spain and had health-, -car and home insurance with them.

Have you considered self-insuring for the time being and banking the savings for the future when you may need coverage?
