IMPORTANT:
HOME BREAK-IN
LOOKING FOR CAR KEYS AND OTHER STOLEN ITEMS
FROM A HOME BREAK IN LAST NIGHT - FRIDAY OCT. 21ST.
A home break-in happened last night in the Alto Boquete area! It is urgent to find the house and car keys! TV and many other items were taken! The wallet was found very near Ivans parking lot and near the road. The keys have a black Nissan car key and other keys attached. (Some keys along with the Swiss army knife however might be missing from the key chain/ring.)
Please call 6760-1488 or 6424-3956 with any information or for any recovered items that you either have or know of. The police station has my information to verify my identification for these items.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE ENTERING THE TIME OF YEAR, PATRIOTIC HOLIDAYS, MOTHERS DAY. CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEARS WHEN CRIMINAL ACTIVITY PICKS UP. UNFORTUNATELY, WE ARE CONSIDERED AS EASY MARKS AND MANY OF US ARE.
BE VIGILANT. IF YOU CANNOT PROTECT YOUR ASSETS GET HOME INSURANCE PROTECTION.
VERY SORRY TO HEAR OF THIS. I DO HOPE THAT SHE HAD HOME INSURANCE THAT WOULD COMPENSATE HER FOR HER LOSE. MY HOUSE WAS BROKEN INTO ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO AND WITHOUT INSURANCE WOULD HAVE SUSTAINED A SUBSTANTIAL LOSE.
Thank you Patrick for your kind thoughts and insights!!
Sharon,
Sorry for your loss.
Can you provide us some insight as to the nature of the break in with regards as how the perpetrators entered your home so we can prepare our homes accordingly?
Was a window without burglar bars broken into?
Was a solid door without burglar bars broken into?
Were burglar bars removed?
Were locks picked open?
Thanks in advance.
Thank you for your inquiry. I am posting for a friend while she goes through the process of recovering her items etc. I don't know all the details but I do know that she has bars on all of her windows and this is the second event (1st break in was in May). The bars were removed when she was not home with the 1st break in, and this time there was one vulnerable spot they found around a window. I wish I could help you a bit better. I do know that it seems sometimes there is a false since of security with some who have bars leaving the windows vulnerable to entry. I am not saying this was the case in this situation as I don not have those details. I hope this helps a bit.
These events can be traumatic and also time consuming. Material losses often don't hurt as much as the feeling of violation. Hope your friend's OK.
Thank you Keith, very well said and I will pass this along to her!
Thanks Amanda for asking it is very appreciated. If you find any lost keys on the ground etc. please get in touch with one of the mentioned phone numbers. The keys are the most important item my friend hopes to find. She was at the police station when she called and asked me to post this message for her. I have no other information. When she is more settled in back at home she will probably post more descriptive information. Again though thank you for taking the time to ask for more details.
Could the removal of the Caldera Police check point have anything to do with this?
Residential burglaries usually are local. The Caldera checkpoint was established principally to thwart violent crimes originating in David and elsewhere.
