We just had a bad experience with a mechanic in David who works on European cars who was referred by Felipe Rodriguez. He is located under a communications tower two blocks west of the Catholic Church off the Interamericana. He would not honor his warranty nor acknowledge that he had been paid in full. (Yes, get everything in writing). Buyer Beware! Had Omar been available to work on our vehicle when we needed it, we would have definitely used him!

I can highly recommend Humberto Saldana at Automotrizsa in David. He has been working on my vehicles for over 3 years. When you take it to him he fixes it without complications at a very reasonable price. He has several qualified mechanics and you can almost eat of the floor in his shop. (find one like that in Panama). He speaks some English and his daughter is fluent. He is a member of the Lion's Club of David and helps with the school for abandoned kids in Potrerillos . He is just over the bridge crossing the interamericana going into David, make a hard turn to the right where the new Pacifico building is a block before the first traffic light. Calle J norte. 775-8196
I've had good experiences with Miguel (in the street in front of Cable& Wireless). Also with Hosman Garcia behind the Terpel in Bajo Boquete. If your Spanish is weak, Hosman's wife speaks English and can order parts from the states on the internet.

Ceiba, opposite the football stadium. Good body repair and spraying at low prices. He speaks only spanish. He removed some small dents and scratches. Paint work was o.k. Ludwig is almost perfect for this on but far more expensive.
Omar also is located on the road to the Wilson Bridge, on the left a short ways down. He is also excellent, fair, and speaks fluent English. Perhaps they're in the same shop?

By the job. He'll tell you in advance how much it will cost if you ask him.
