I make and sell El Matador brand mold killer spray which works well on shoes, leather garments, backs and bottoms of upholstered furniture, wooden furniture surfaces, backs of throw rugs, draperies and other household items. Generally, on porous surfaces one application is all it takes unless the item is laundered or worn in the rain. A 16 ounce spray bottle costs $7.00 and lasts a long time. If you want to see a guide sheet with more information, send an email to rhgusn@gmail.com with the subject line MOLD KILLER.
I am a big fan of essential oils but in this case I always go to my colloidal silver. Mix some in water (1/3 silver to 2/3 water) and spray where ever you see or suspect the mold is. Works great. Do not use bleach as it's toxic and the mold WILL come back. When I moved to my place, my casitas has this problem. It was embedded in a finely carved Bali 4-panel wood screen with very small holes. I sprayed generously and wiped with a towel and did it again a couple of days later and it NEVER came back, now 5 years later. I make Nano silver for this purpose but I use it also as a natural antibiotic for all wounds, and because it's "nano" it can be used internally to fight bacteries and viruses as well. Months ago I had a severe wound across my knee requiring 8 stitches and I insisted the doctor put a liberal amount of the silver directly in the wound before stitching me up. Never has any swelling or infection and never took a prescription antibiotic (which I prefer not to do). I make it myself and sell it here for $20 for an 8 oz. bottle.

I would love your Nano silver recipe,
would you mind sharing it? I never use bleach either.
I don't ever have a problem when I'm here in Panama
Otherwise, get hold of an ozone generator. The ozone reaches everywhere, kills everything that is or might be alive, and turns back into harmless oxygen. They are used to deodorize buildings that have had fires, extreme urine "invasions," dead animals, etc. They kill mold really well. You can buy one on Amazon for about $35.
It helps killing the current mold and also helps prevent new mold. You need to spray about once a week if you have a really bad problem, once every 2-3 weeks for a mild problem -- BONUS -- it makes the house smell really nice too.
we do not have a mold problem, but do love this blend you recommend.
of course, we have installed ceiling fans in every room, including bathrooms, veranda & casita. one closet, which is on an outside wall, is prone to mold, we leave doors open & floor fan blowing directly in there 24/7/365. the other closet, doors left open 24/7/365. we also use damp rid in these closets. that is about it.
btw: peppermint, clove in water spray bottle is a wonderful bug repellent around the house....inside & out.
i love using essential oils & love this blend you recommend. oils smell so much better than 'room fresheners' & last longer.

Thanks Mark!
excellent ray.
is this for cleaning up existing mold?
and/or
preventing mold from occurring?
It helps killing the current mold and also helps prevent new mold. You need to spray about once a week if you have a really bad problem, once every 2-3 weeks for a mild problem -- BONUS -- it makes the house smell really nice too.

I was just going to say that.....
My casita has gone from smelling like a mold infested bomb
to a wonderful mixture of herbs...I can mainly smell the clove.
I will spray once a week until dry season...
usually no problem but lack of ventilation, no dehumidifier, no air
caused mold. I don't want to take a chance. We sprayed down walls and every
single piece of furniture ect.
THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP....Ray!
EVERYONE THAT HAS A PROBLEM SHOULD TRY THIS.
