drive up to the road that connects Volcancito and El Salto .......if water is spraying out and you still do not have water.........then it is not a water shortage problem
when you do not see the water spray........it is a water supply / systemic problem......
from today's spray, I'd say we have good water pressure
and that's how we roll in Panama

In My Humble Opinion, this is a problem for the responsible water board (junta de agua). So, which water board owns this line? Who is the President? Get in his/her face and then the water board engineer is responsible for the solution. One needs to understand how the water system in Boquete is operated. Taxes do not pay for this type of work. Each water board is independent.
In our area, several of the ex-pats, working with our water board have funded and executed specific repairs to our system.
My suggestion would be to find out who is responsible and work WITH them to develop a solution.
Live like PIGS and enjoy paradise!!
I've heard that those holes are often intentionally allowed to remain, or even intentionally opened, in order to address the very high water pressure here. When the pressure is too high, it can break your faucets and valves in your homes. If you fix this one cowboy-style, you may blow your and many other's toilets, sinks, and showerheads.
And I have heard from a civil engineer who specializes in water issues that holes in water pipes does absolutely nothing to reduce water pressure.
"The solution is simple. The problem is with the local residents and water authority... Where do I register a concern with authorities. I dont need to live in boquete." The Mayor of Boquete is in charge of water distribution. You can find him at the Alcaldia.
Walter, when will you be here to lobby for and effect these changes for us? Maybe this is something Hil' and yourself could work on together.
yes, I have seen it there before too....but thought it was fixed and broken again , but evidently no...how to fix it..build a new line ,while this is leaking, then after completed new line disconnect the old, connect to new...hopefully in a better position to be repaired in the future...its not rocket science
especially as that was spraying like that when I drove by that same place in late February....how much water has been lost since then?? I took a picture of that same leak back then.
