This is going to sound funny but the noise I am referring to is truck's idling engines. You see my place is behind a supermarket, so early in the morning we have the sound of trucks making their delivery. That is why I said mostly the noise. Even with the current windows closed, you can still hear them as if they were open.

Install a second glass or plastic window on the inside or , consider the old fashioned way with wood shutters on the outside...
This is a good idea. I am having new windows put in and can ask the person who will make them if he can do this. But with the moisture that we get in Boquete, wouldn't that trap moisture in between the panes?

The best solution for me is white noise and earplugs. There are youtube videos that are up to 10hrs. I use the star trek warp engine sound. Free!
