Thanks for your response -- the trip is still a little up in the air -- my wife and I are orginally from Austin Tx and have been living in Montana for the last 9 + yrs. We are working out the details -- we would be coming to Panama from Tx not Montana -- we I will let you know -- if our friends come with us then we need a 2 bd 2 bath -- we will drive to Buquete from El Valle (we have a friend there) at any rate that is the deal -

How is the search going? My husband and I are from Texas as well. We have been living in Los Molinos for 4months now and we love it!! Our landlord has many houses in the area for rent. Furnished/Unfurnished. I believe he has quite a few houses outside of Los Molinos also. The houses vary in size and price. Let me know if you would like his contact info. ( I am not a realtor. We were originally just going to stay for 6 months but we have fallen in love with Boquete. We love our house (that we are renting) in Los Molinos. It's a great location: between Boquete and David. ( A little closer to Boquete.) The temperature is great and we have sunnier days (not hot) than Boquete has. It is a gated and secured subdivision. We have felt very comfortable and safe here. There are some really great people living here in the community as well. Here is a link to Los Molinos: . Our landlord's name is Tom. He is has been wonderful. He is very prompt at getting back to us whenever we have a question. He has other houses closer to town also. We are moving out of our house in a few weeks to take over a wildlife refuge in Boquete. I have heard both negative and positive opinions about employement in Panama. I think the trick is to step out of the box a bit and try to fill a niche.

My husband and I work over the net. We are taking over the Rescue Centre as volunteers.

There are several spas and a few gyms in the area but not too sure about how the real estate market is going. We have a few friends that have successfully made a go at starting a business in Panama and we've heard of plenty of people that move back home. I guess it's just what you make of it. Networking is a great start. Good luck!!
