Could you please give us an idea of the extent of Irene's commitments so that between us, everyone who wishes to contribute, can do so with a realistic knowledge of what we are looking at raising until Irene's finances have been sorted out. I am sure that once all the legalities are done, everything will have been handled properly regarding the Irene Annie Haines Foundation. I will do everything I can in the UK to get some more funds in. Thanks. Kiz
I met Irene when we worked as Butlin holiday camp redcoats as teenagers, and subsequently shared a house together in Bognor Regis. We remained friends and constantly in touch throughout Irene's career with PanAm, and I visited her several times in Cyprus - so our friendship lasted for over 50 years. Irene was special. Firstly she was great fun with that wicked sense of humour, and as a friend she was calm in times of trouble and always supportive and loyal putting other people's needs ahead of her own. She urged me to visit her in Panama and I fully intended to now I have retired - wish I'd done that sooner. I can understand how much she will be missed by the community in Panama , it seems she worked tirelessly for the good of others until the end of her life. I share the great sadness everyone feels at the loss of an exceptional lady and friend, all too soon. Sleep well Irene.

Irene was a much loved friend. I shall miss her very much. I met her in Cyprus where she worked in a charity shop funding the Dog rescue centre there, and we walked dogs from the rescue centre together. She came to my wedding. I visited her in her new home in Panama and met her friends at the Fundacion. I sponsored Daniella through college and I still have one sponsorship ongoing. What will happen to this? I'd like to continue with it.
Rest In Peace, Irene.

We will all miss Irene. We treasure the memories of working with her for all of the years of working for Pan Am at London/Heathrow airport.
She was a fine and caring person.
