I want to buy a Kindle but don't know which to buy. I have a wireless router in my home , so will the "wifi" Kindle work for me or do I need the "Free WG and wifi" Kindle because I am in Panama??

I love the instant access concept but for me Kindle has a long way to go before I jump on the band wagon. I don't want books of any kind that arn't mine to do with as I please short of copying.

I understand the connection technolgy well enough but what I don't understand is the "red tape" that comes with the books you download. Like a book I get from Hal can I trade a downloaded book with a friend?

I went to my page in amazon and noted that all 6 of my books are lendable.

From what I understand is that once you lend a book on Kindle, you won't have access to it until it's returned.

Wow -- didn't realize the update was already out. Checked some of my books and not all were lendable. For Kodiak the following is copied from Amazon's site:
Lending Kindle Books
When I uploaded my novels to the Kindle digital manager, there was a box that I checked to allow the book to be loaned. The author makes the determination from the start. It's similiar on the B&N Pubit. It's the author's call. BTW, 6 titles on Kindle, 2 on B&N.

Bob, Thanks for your quick reply.
Not being familar with Amazon's concept of lending and returning (lendable) books I for one would appreciate it if you would eleborate on how this process works. Meanwhile are other downloadable books useable on the Kindle?

I haven't been charged. I've had my unit for several months. I'm determined to learn and use all the features available. I use it every day.
