We are starting an International Police Association (IPA) Section in the Country of Panama. We have a strong group in Boquete and one in Panama City. The IPA is an international organization in 68 countries composed of retired and active law enforcement personnel. If you know of anybody or if you fit this bill, please contact me for more info. LOL, Chuck! I ran on coffee and doughnuts for half of 2012, thanks to Alto Dorado and Panama Joe, whilst on graveyard shift. I fully support the idea of a doughnut shop!
Hey maybe it is now time to open a donut shop in town Just kidding of course!
Susan and Pat,
Don't know what you know about the IPA, but it is for active or retired LEO. If you are still interested, we are starting a Section in Panama. Although the IPA is in 68 countries, there is none in Panama. Since we are starting one, we can do anything the membership wants. Our first mission would be to improve professionalism in the Panamanian police force. Already we are working on on-going training for the police, as presently there is none. We could have death benifits for slain officers etc. Mostly this is about the comraderie of fellow members that have "been there and done that," and helping others.
This is not, all work and no play. As for the membership, being a group we could do anything.you want. A bus to Bocas Chicas or whatever. We have monthly meetings at restaurants, and this is a member and spouse organization. Members also enjoy visiting IPA countries, and the hospitality of hosting countries. You can leran more at IPA-USA.org or do a google search. There are other organizations known as IPA , so use the full name. Questions, call me.
