I have a couple of lamps with very unique shades that need replacing and that I cannot find even on the Internet. A friend gave me the following website for a shop in Panama City that allegedly has a large inventory of lampshades and that will recover shades. I have not used them yet, but my friend has and swears by them. See http://uniqueshades.com/contactus.html
It's my understanding that they will ship to Boquete via Fletes Chevalles.

More on Unique Shades from a friend who prefers not to be identified:
I never post on local sites but I check them about once a month. I happened to see your post about Unique Shades. I think they may have relocated since I used them when they were in Obario and they are now in El Cangrejo but definitely the same company.
I have used Unique Shades twice. When we came here, several shades were damaged in shipment. The lamps were Asian and had shades that were custom matched to the bases. Unique Shades did a wonderful job, they had a selection of fabrics and recovered my frames perfectly. I have also purchased a couple of their sample shades. A Panamanian friend recommended them to me and I concur wholeheartedly with her praise for this company. Not cheap but high quality. I sent pictures of the bases the last time and the owner replied with suggestions for shades.
This is the only place that I have found in Panama!

Bonnie, is this your friend who doesn't want to be identified?

Steve and Cathy, I was in Novey's today and noticed that they had some nice looking lamp shades. In the back, on the right, with the lighting.
Guess who will be there tomorrow? Thanks.
Good keith - thanks - I will be sure to leave the "h" at the front door
EconoPrecio is the name of that furniture store on Obaldia, B&A. You are correct that it's deep, the rear of the building faces the street behind.
thanks keith -- I will put my hiking booths on
Thanks so much.
