I had Internet Activo when I moved here because it was my only option. I was paying$105/month for 1.5 mg. Now I use Claro for my data. I bought a sweet Samsung smart phone for $250. It now serves as my hotspot for my laptop and iPad. Now I have Internet wherever I go. No need to search out a hotspot. It's faster than my old provider and costs me $11/month! I didn't think I needed a smart phone but I have discovered it is a very handy device. The Google translator alone is awesome.
I have one for lights and music at the rink. It actually has its own little transformer. It was a little more pricey than the others but it has never gone off when the power has been out. And, I mean for hours it is still going with plenty of power left. Now, the coolers are a different story, I need a generator for those.
You could consider one of the small generators they sell to power your fridge and whatever else, like lights. Power has been out for long periods the last two days in Caldera.
A problem here is the Claro tower has no backup power, so I also have no phone or Internet.

Power outrage.
The large size battery backup we got from Pricesmart keeps the modems and TV going for well over an hour. I outlasted both interruptions this week.
So what is it this time? Certainly not another snake in the transformer (aren't those boxes sealed?).
Back on in El Salto at 9:55
Lights are on in San Isidro!
Yep!
