Bad news. One of the 3 $100 bills we got at the fundraiser was fake. I hope the giver was unaware. Be careful in Boquete! It didn't look fake at first glance and 5 of us counted the money and didn't catch it. But look at the water mark when held up to the light. Looks cartoonish.

Perhaps you should adopt the practice of most businesses in Panama by not accepting bills over $20 in denomination.
ok johnny come lately.
thanks for the advice.
however, there have been $5 fakes given in change by taxi drivers also.
should $5 bills also be rejected & we all pay in pennies?
Meoow!
I'm well aware of the fake $5 bills, however, there's a substantial difference between losing $5 versus $100.
Requiring people to pay in pre-1983 pennies would be beneficial since their weight in copper is valued at 2.4 cents. What a great idea!
you are such a child....i love laughing @ children being children
I have not been into any store or restaurant, for that matter, who did not take $100 bills.
That’s just B.S.
$100 bills are accepted at any of the businesses I deal with.
