More to say on this later. Check out the Guardline product on Amazon. Not cheap, but it works like no other. Carries a lifetime warrantee, which probably means they believe in their product. No installation required, only perhaps some sage advice.
Saved us from intruders - twice. At 4:30 in the morning, no friends of yours are coming to your front gate. With the alert, we were able to hit them with a huge flashlight and they were gone.
Mark Heyer was going to gather information for different devices for protection and let us know, but I haven't seen it yet. Maybe he needs a "nudge".

I used battery operated motion detectors while we were in Panama (front and back of house ) and always knew is anyone was approaching the home from either direction. I suggested this type to Mark Heyer also.
these units are cheap and around $15 + - (have seen them for as little as $12 on sale) each but were brought by me from the states (bought at Harbor Freight)
pick them up on your next trip or have someone order a bunch to sell around town could be a money maker for someone !
Still use them here in Oregon today one even lets me know when pesky deer get in the yard - garden.

Deter - failed
Detect - worked
Disrupt - also worked
Defend - didn't need to
When all else fails go to Amazon.com as they have many different ones to choose from.

I would try all the usual suspects. Ivan's, El Constructor, Novey, Do-It.
