Slowly moving black legs stick out of holes in the soft shelled thing near the dog's skin. What looks like an insect body part or head is next to where the jelly bean attaches to the dog's skin,.

It is a tick - a female, next to the female always sits the smaller male. Get them off with tweezers!
Look for more - where is one always are more. Wash the dog with a special shampoo which kills ticks!! tickfever is very common!!
