There is a new language learning program starting up that has come to my attention. They're looking for volunteers to test their theories/practices.A quote from their website: "We’re looking for 50,000 volunteers willing to test a fast, new way to learn a new language that doesn’t involve memorizing or years of practice."They are starting with the Spanish language and want anyone over the age of 18 who speaks little to no Spanish and especially those who have tried to learn but are having difficulties for whatever reason. They say their aim is to prove that adults CAN learn another language. The trials will start when they get 50,000 volunteers which they are hoping will be this month. It's free. You can check it out here: http://50000peopleproject.com/?ref=AR2

"We aim to prove that adults can learn a new language in a single afternoon" ( with added practice).
Anyone who claims this can't be taken seriously, you need to memorize all the verbs, learn the irregular ones in all tenses including the subjunctive. The importance of correct pronunciation cannot be overstressed...and yes--it does take years of practice if you want to speak fluently.
Of course it may be worth while to take a look at this program even just for the sake of curiosity.
