Cool, Green and the best Coffee in the world
The Knit 'N' Knatter group and I have talked about making a website for ourselves and anyone else who'd like to become involved in making items for the Ngobe and other needy individuals. I'm no web guru by any means but was bored today so put something together just to get the juices flowing and in the hopes of getting some feedback. This really is nothing more than a test site, but I'd appreciate comments:

This site is intended for everyone who would like to be involved in making items. It's not limited to knitting or quilting... anything you have an idea for or are willing to contribute making would be wonderful!
Great work...you're keeping so busy I'm getting dizzy! I am not talented with making things but I love the site just cuz I'm so proud of what you all are doing....

Good work.
A few suggestions from a techno-geek perspective. Some thoughts about creating a website and the info that you put on the website:
Define who your audience is - who do you wish to target? residents? long term visitors?, short term visitors? and for each audience determine what info you want to provide them to support these groups - as there will be similarities as well as differences.
And what do want to accomplish with this site? i.e. I want to increase awareness of these groups to residents and visitors in the Boquete area, I want to showcase the accomplishments of each group, I want to invite others to join / participate, I want to provide info on how people can contribute or support each group, I want to show the end-products of each group, etc, etc and for each objective you need to have the corresponding information on the website.
Tell a story about each group, people love stories, who they are, what they do, why they do what they do, when do they meet, how do newcomers join, what can people contribute (money, cloth, time, etc), how do they contribute???
All the best.
Susan

Some of your suggestions I don't have the knowledge to address. Some I hadn't even considered. Most of what you suggest in the "what do you want to accomplish with this site" and the "tell a story" paragraphs is on the site. It could use more fleshing out, but basic data is there.
I will certainly pass your suggestions along to the person who will take over what I started. She's a long time resident of Boquete and has been involved with the Knit 'N' Knatter group awhile. She's much more likely to have answers. This is not my forte - I just wanted to get the ball rolling.
Thanks again.
