I need to find a notary in David to get a signature notarized for Canadian paperwork. Does anyone know where I can find a place to do this and do they speak english there?
Thanks

There is a notary at the Boquete Municipio across from Romero. This office is not the full-fledged type that maintains files of wills and other documents, but I have had both Panamanian documents and US documents such as real estate deeds notarized there.
There is a Government Notary in David. I have used it to get my Florida Drivers license renewed online. It is a certified Notary by the government. I had a Power Of Attorney and Will Notarized there also. And, this is where they record and store a will. Just ask any Panamanian the directions. Most all personal documents have be notarized through this office. Like I said; it worked in the USA for my drivers license renewal. Yes they speak english there. The office is near the WIngs place. I can't give exact directions. It's near the two new buildings over by the hospital.
Take Calle Brenes (the old McDonald's road) as though you are going to the airport. When the road deadends, a right turn will take you to the airport.Turn to the left and then take the first right, and the Primera Notaria is on your immediate right.
There also is a Segunda Notaria downtown; its location is depicted on the Google map. I haven't been there in a long time, but my recollection is that the parking there is a nightmare. Perhaps it's changed, though.

All notaries in Panama are appointed and regulated by the government.
The Registro Publico, where documents are registered, is next door to the Notaria Primera.

Maybe you can use this map.

Top left of screen click on search button for Notaría Primera de David. It will insert the red marker for exact location.

Why won't the notary at the Mayor's office in Boquete suffice?
