We had the most delightful Mexican food and dining experience at Pancho Villa last night. Gratis homemade chips and dip, a varied and well priced menu, margaritas that will knock your socks off and a beautiful enchanted garden setting. Juan, the owner, is charming and accommodating. We will make Pancho Villa a regular for Mexican food. Oh also, go hungry as the portions are large.Linda

We have gone many times to La Casona Mexicana in Bajo Boquete and the food has always been excellent. As with most restaurants in the area, you will be disappointed with any meat dish, the beef is not tender, however, anything else with chicken or pork has been very tasty and tender/lean and the same applies to all other Mexican ingredients.
I never see too many cars and I don't understand that. As I said, the food has always been good and the service is also good, as far as Panama service goes.
Where is Pancho Villa restaurant located, please? We are willing to give it a try.
We've been driving from Boquete to Volcan for good Mexican food. If I remember the name of the Volcan restaurant, I'll post it. It's at the far end of Main St on the right, in the same building as a hotel. They have a sign. Excellent.
Don't do it. The food isn't Mexican, and the quality of whatever it is has gone downhill since they opened. You should mix a can of Price Smart canned chicken with some Costena salsa and throw it into an Old El Paso flour tortilla. You will be happier.
Juan is a nice guy, the service is generally good, and it's a fairly comfortable place. But, everyone I know who has eaten there have given Pancho Villa three tries and many of us have provided feedback to Juan about the food. It just isn't "Mexican" and whatever it is doesn't taste all that great. We had such high hopes, but we won't be returning
Also being from the Southwestern US, I enjoy Pancho Villa. They had a rough start for the first few days, but we found their food to be delicious and the service was top notch. Haters going to hate, but EVERY review of this place on TripAdvisor is a 5 star! (8 reviews at the time of writing this).

"Haters going to hate," So I guess we can't share an opinion contrary to yours without being labelled a "hater". How sincere of you.

Haters going to hate - doesn't mean opinions aren't welcome, chief. No ones labeling here; stop watching so much US politics and perhaps you won't be so angry.

then what does it mean? and why did you think it necessary to your assertion?
It sounds a lot like your saying anyone dissing Pancho Villa is a hater, and participate in the propagation of hatred - and therefore their opinions are discounted or worth less than positive opinions.
I'm not at all angry, but I think your comment comes across as quite arrogant.
People have a wide range of opinions, and frankly, I've been in Panama long enough to know that restaurants have their good and bad days.- So both sides have some validity to them.
As for your comment regarding US politics, I don't know what the political situation of a foreign country has to do with this discussion. We'll might as well discuss the upcoming local elections in New Zealand.
