As the site seems to be returning to a resource of information for potential newcomers to the area who are curious and asking questions I thought it might be a good idea for those of us that are settled here to list a few things from our experiences that might be of interest to those doing their research.
For example my pet peeve is customer service; to be told something will be done by ? but when you check back nothing has changed. You can’t voice your dissatisfaction or you’ll be made to wait longer and suffer more.

1/. North American residents who feel obliged to share their pet peeves about the place they chose to live.
2/. North Americans who do so from behind false identities.
3/. North Americans who do not, and never will, reside in Boquete, but feel obliged to demean it anyway.
1/. North American residents who work illegally without a work permit taking away a job from a Panamanian.
2/. North American residents who run a business through a personal checking account thus avoiding taxes and fees that could contribute to improving Panama's infrastructure.
3/. North American residents who smoke cigarettes when Panama is a smoke free country in all public places.
4/. North American residents who consume illegal drugs.
5/. North American residents who sell illegal drugs.
6/. North American residents with criminal records using local Panamanian police reports to obtain residency.
My peeve, which has nothing to do with Panamanians or their culture. North American anonymous cowards on Ning who hide behind an alias i.e. Good Morning Boquete (how do you know so much about illegal drugs? I know nothing). Maybe something someone said or something you read? If you know of this illegal activity contact the authorities. Best not throw around peeves, real or not, that have nothing to do with your life. If Panama is a smoke free country, how can they sell cigarettes? #6 doesn't make any sense to me. GMB credibility =0.
Donald and Don are also fraudulent trolls and cowards. Big mouths and no guts.
Hmm, those are some of Panamanian pet peeves, too.
Amen Keith!!

Maybe pet peeves depend on whether you are a dog or cat person? Dunno.
However, Halfthrottle's videos on pet peeves are informational and entertaining:

Part 1 leads into Part 2 so you get the whole list in one pass.
As for everyone's pet peeve, Boquete's road conditions, here is the last time Boquete's roads were in good shape. So much for progress.
Please read my response to the thread Automatic transmission. That’s enough from here!
The problem with this post is not that there can be problems with customer service, but it is like one of the blind men seeing the elephant. Customer service can vary considerably with different companies. I had what I considered a minor problem with a freezer we bought at Rodelag. I told a manager about it, and she replaced the entire freezer.
Customer service is generally good at Do-It Center, PriceSmart and other high-end stores, though return and guarantee periods are often shorter than in the US.
Bob, you’re contribution is welcome, many establishments are fine and some can go the extra mile. I’m not about to elaborate as to why I chose this as my pet peeve but maybe others will offer up their own peeves.
Why not add something you like. Negativity has it's polar opposite. If you'd have done your research, you'd have known that Panama does not have the customer service you were accustomed to. Rather you moved here and now whine about it. Take your negativity back to where you came from. Thousands of expats live here and don't go on Ning to complain.
