CruzDancerz, Sunny & Dave present “Dancing at Dusk” at the El Oasis Hotel and Restaurant. The event includes dance instruction for couples in American style Rumba (the "Dance of Romance"), followed by dance music by request. Donation is $10/couple ($5/person).
FAQ’s on CruzDancerz “Dancing at Dusk” Event
1) I’m single and don’t have a partner. Can I attend the class anyway?
Anyone is welcome to attend the class. This is partner dancing (any two people can partner), and is taught as such. Single attendees can pair up with other singles for practice during class, but we cannot guarantee a partner. You may wish to start a thread, “Dance Partner Desired” to see who else might be in search of a partner. To increase learning and communication within the partnership, we do not ask partners to change during class.
2) I just want to come and dance. Can I do that?
Sure! The event runs from 5-7pm, and you can come for whatever portion you like. Instruction will commence at 5pm sharp, so if you choose to come after 5pm we promise you will miss out on valuable information! ;~) That being said, it’s perfectly fine to come late or leave early. The donation of $10/couple applies for whichever part of the event you choose to attend. Following the dance lesson (at approximately 6pm), we will have Open Dancing by Request.
3) Why do you list a Donation of $10/couple and $5/person if this is a partnered event?
The last time we held this event, some participants were confused and thought it was $10/person. We show the Donation as $5/person for clarity. If you really like the class and want to pay $10/person, that’s OK with us!
4) Will there be a show? Are you available to dance with us after class?
Sorry, we are dance instructors, not dance performers or dance hosts. There will not be a show (well, sometimes Dave acts a little silly, but that's probably not what you meant!), and we won’t be dancing socially with participants (except briefly to illustrate a point we may make during class).
5) Will you play any song I ask?
While we won’t be able to play specific song titles you request, we'll be more than happy to play music for any dance type you request. If you want a waltz (fast or slow), we can play music for that. If you prefer a swing (East Coast or West Coast), we can play music for that, too. Argentine or Ballroom Tango? Hustle or Salsa? Cha-cha or Bachata? It’s completely up to you!
6) Do you give private lessons?
We provide individual and group private lessons for couples. We are also available for fundraising events.
Finally, if dancing just isn't your “thing”, we appreciate you sharing this event info with someone you know who loves to dance.
