We will be in Boquete from January 5 thru February 28, 2018 and wondering if anyone has a second car they would like to rent - for all or some of this period. My wife and I are excellent drivers - flawless driving records. We have already lived in Boquete for two years and have driven all over Panama so we are very familiar with driving here. Let us know if you would like to make some extra $ on your extra vehicle. Muchas Gracias!

Another possibility is to contact Boquete Cowboy Cars at which Dave McDonald rents vehicles. All his cars carry insurance, and he is much less expensive than rental car companies. Many people have utilized his service to their satisfaction--including me.
I am replying for some friends. They have a very nice 2012 Kia Sorento 4x4 automatic SUV. They do long term rentals and would be interested. You can contact them via email at bobschultz@live.dk or by phone or whatsapp at 507-6983-4194 or 507-6983-4250. Bob and Maria
Thanks so much Steve!
Can you drive a standard? We would need to add both of you to our insurance policy. Please contact me at ecoquestpanama@gmail.com

Why? In Panama your vehicle is insured for who ever drives it!
Is this correct? You don't have to specify on the insurance who will be driving your car?
Correct, even if you sell the vehicle the insurance remains on the car until it expires or until you cancel it. The vehicle is insured for all who are legal to drive in Panama regardless who owns the vehicle.
Exception: if the owner is past 90 days on their foreign license, he/she are not insured, but other drivers are. Also if the renter is past 90 days on same. Double whammy, they are not considered insured by the insurer, and the agressive transitos will most surely impound the vehicle (even though other legally licensed drivers are in the vehicle). Cuidado!9
NB: the vehicle insurance is only valid when the driver has a legal right to drive, and furthermore has the right license type (not usually an issue, but could be for motos and some trucks).
