We would love to have you attend. See you Tuesday.
Thank you Suzanne.
YouTube video of Panamanian police last year. Very professional, Johnny. http://youtu.be/md6jJalhIdA
Johnny isn't interested in anything even remotely close to the truth. His is a closed mine with no hopes of ever opening and only interested in spewing his vile anti American rhetoric. Only a fool believes everything is perfect in his country and that nothing can't be learned from those of other countries. There is always someone smarter; there is always a better way to do something, to improve on something.
Although I can't say from personal experience or knowledge (although I'm sure some on here could) it does seem like the local Panamanian Police have happily cooperated with AAC to improve safety and solve crimes. Thankfully as I previously stated Johnny's opinion is one of a very small close minded few!! Rant on Johnny if it makes you feel better.
Thanks again for the ex pats and Panamanians who are ready, willing and able to Help their fellow Panamanians improve their situation thru Education or Equipment. Yes, Johnny, I did say Improve. Johnny 'ain't No Sun Shine any more' will Never be Satisfied or Content with or Understand those wonderful giving people in Public Service who are willing to give all. Thank You Johnny, for your Negativism, which has given Me the added Incentive to use My 30+ years of Gringo Public Service Knowledge to help my fellow brother & sister Panamanians in Public Service. I may always be a 'Gringo' but public service goes much further than evidently you can ever Comprehend.
If you all are meeting for lunch, that just proves that you are involved in some kind of twisted world-domination conspiracy. If you're looking for good, stoo-pud henchmen to help further your nefarious plans, and the pay is good, gimmee a call. I promise to obtain the proper documentation and to pay my Social Security ...
Call me "Rocko",

I will only respond to you once, because I believe you to be a troll. NOBODY in the IPA wants to shape anything. It is a group of people who have come together and are willing to give of our experience as the Local Police would have need or desire from us. No laws are being asked to be changed or suggested. Would you deny a doctor from the States living here to not offer services where needed simply because he/she is from the US? How about people who helped build the library that are from the US, would you deny there help or money? People have different backgrounds and skill sets and would love to share them as a way of giving to the community that has been so welcoming. For that matter, maybe you think that all gringos should go back from whence they came. Are you a gringo or a Panamanian? If you are a gringo, I would suggest you either put up or shut up.
Apparently Johnny and Raine/Lynnie, two of our outspoken "negativists," jumped into the fray without knowing all of the details. They don't even know - or can't figure out - that the International Police Association an international entity based in Europe with member chapters in many countries, including Australia, Belgium, Botswana, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, Namibia, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
However, on the point of international and expat relations, it would seem prudent to include some Panamian officers in initial stages of a police-related organization in their country. It seems that the core of any IPA chapters in Panama should really be local police, and not expats.
Are the local police or any Panamanian active or retired police officers involved in establishing this chapter?
Is the business of the local chapter conducted in the language of this country, e.g., Español?
As Alto al Crimen does, any local crime-related organization should work closely with the Panamanian police departments.
The post that started this thread implies that it is an expat only effort, and I am sure that is what provoked the negative responses..
We do have some Panamanians in the IPA. It is in early stages of development and Local and National Police are invited and have been contacted. Obviously there is an element of camaraderie in the group as with any group. As I understand the question you have, the group is not seeking to be involved in policing such as Alto Al Crimen, rather we could be a resource if needed and information could be shared from the vast array of knowledge and expertise from within the group. The IPA is NOT seeking to change laws or suggest laws, but rather share knowledge of techniques and such as well as foster a good relationship with the Local Police.
