Hi, everyone! We have a gorgeous day off here in Boquete and are wondering if there are any nearby places in the rivers that are safe for swimming? We are concerned about pesticides and goodness knows what else may be polluting the water with agricultural run-off. Any information is deeply appreciated. Thanks, and have a wonderful day.~Daniel & Nicole ~www.facebook.com/boqueteartcafe

Thank you all for the responses....Gualaca is great but we didn't have to time to go that far. We also love Rio Encantada but, again, more time than we really had. We drove up to the Lost Waterfalls and took a little dip. Again, thanks, everyone, for contributing. :-)
Hello
Cangilones de Gualaca, are gorgeous and very popular with the locals
Try looking on this site. I don't know how up to date it is, but it had specific directions to a waterfall and springs in Caldera.

There is an awesome swimming\diving spot on a river down at Gualaca. Nice spot for a picnic too. Take your sunscreen. I can't tell you exactly how to get there, but it's easy to find. Basically when you drive into Gualaca go past the gas station and take the left and drive Hal mile or so. It's on your right. The water is beautiful and has cliffs to dive off. Maybe someone will give you better directions or just ask at the gas station. When swimming you are not in sight of your car, so don't leave valuables inside.
