Social security letters at the post office

I noticed several letters from the SSA awaiting recipients at the Boquete post office this week. If you haven't checked in a while, you might want to stop by. Tis the season to get the COLA advisement.

It would be nice if a bunch of us could get together and rent a box. Someone could go down once a week and check to see if we got a letter from them.

Pretty sure you have to go on the 'waiting for someone to die' list.

I didnt' go on a waiting list; walked into the post office around mid March and asked about getting a box. They had my write my name and contact info in a small book and said they would call me next week. When I didn't receive a call I went back in and asked again telling them they'd taken my contact details but didn't call. They gave me some forms to fill out and said bring them back tomorrow -- went back and was issued my box.  

Boxes are renewed in January each year and sometime in Feb/Mar for those who haven't paid they start working on them to give to others so suggest you go by in Feb to ask and maybe get put on a list.
